double knitting tips

בימים האחרונים החלטתי לסרוג בסריגה כפולה, טכניקה בה אפשר להשיג בעצם סריג שעשוי שתי שכבות שנראות זהה משני הצדדים double knitting. 

העיקרון דיי פשוט ויש המון אתרים וסרטי יו-טיוב שמסבירים איך לעשות את זה. 

אבל למען הזכרון, שלי בעיקר, אני רוצה להעלות כמה נקודות שכדי לזכור בקשר לטכניקה הזו. 

• להתחלה החלתתי פשוט להעלות עניים בצבע אחד ואז רק בשורה השניה לצרף את הצבע הנוסף. אבל בפעם הבאה אני מניחה שאני אעשה invisible cast on 
• עדיף לסרוג את העין (שמאל וימין) מהחלק האחורי (back side loop) כי העניים יוצאות יותר "מסודרות" אבל זה עניין של העדפה אבל אני מניחה שזה תלוי באיזה צמר סורגים בדיוק 
• צריך לשים לב שחוטי הצמר לא יתלפפו אחד בשני כי אז למרות שהליפוף אמור להיות בין שני הצדדים של הסריג בכל זאת רואים את הליפוף! 

אז החלטתי שוב לפרום ולהתחיל מחדש...

in the last few days i have been playing around with double knitting. this is not as hard as i thought once you get into it, but i have realized somethings that i thought to mention. 

• this time i have decided to just cast on a super stretchy cast on and to add the second color only on the second row, but next time i may do an invisible cast on 
• i think that knitting and purling into the back loops produce a better looking fabric, but i guess it depends on the yarn and personal preference. i just found it neater. 
• it is important to be careful and not to knit or purl when the yarns are tangled, even though in some cases i managed that it will be hidden between the tow layers, but in some cases the tangle just pop out. 

so after trying it for i have decided to rip and try it again....

New things come around

התקופה האחרונה לא היתה קלה לאף אחד בעיקר מבחינה כלכלית. לצערי, העניין גם לא פסח עלינו ובחודשים האחרונים ראינו שיש צורך להפשיל שרוולים קצת יותר.
אז נכון, אני תמיד יכולה לחזור להיות אחות, כי זה באמת המקצוע שלי (ויש הרבה שיעשו חחחחח אבל כשעבדתי כאחות הייתי דיי טובה בזה) אבל השעות קשות, העבודה לא פשוטה והסיבה העיקרית שיצאתי מעבודת הסיעוד היתה שהמחיר שהמשפחה שילמה היה כבד. נכון, בימים שבהם עבדתי לילות הייתי בבית בשעות שבהם מיה היתה ערה אבל אני לא הייתי כל כך ערה.... ולא להיות שישי או שבת בבית עם המשפחה זה דבר לא פשוט ונוסיף לזה את הלילות בהם לא הייתי עם יונתן, האמת קצת מבאס.
אז אני נותנת לעצמי שנה או אולי קצת יותר כדי לנסות ולהרוויח ממה שאני עוד טובה בו. אז במה אני עוד טובה? סריגה תפירה וכל ה״בתיה עוזיאל סטייל״. אני לא יודעת אם מזה אני יכולה לחיות טוב, סביר להניח שלא, אבל כתוספת קטנה לכלכלת הבית, אולי זה כן.
הדבר לא פשוט כי אני צריכה להחליט מה להכין ואיפה למכור. באופן טבעי כמעט, בזכות החנות שלנו, החלטתי שלהתחיל להכין דברים לצלמים יהיה לא רע. אז תפרתי כמה כיסויים לרצועות סטנדרטיות של מצלמות DSLR שמגיעות עם המצלמה, הכנתי גם כמה רצועות יד למצלמות קטנות שעשויות ממיתרים. אבל שום דבר עוד לא נמכר...

אז זהו, זה השלב בו אני מנסה.

 חג פורים מתחיל אצלי יחסית מוקדם. 
המחשבה עם הילדים למה השנה מתחפשים לוקחת את רוב הזמן עד לשלב ההכנה עצמה של התחפושות. 
השנה מיה החליטה להיות דמות מסרט של ימזאקי ארייטי (arrietty)
וטום אחרי שינויים רבים הגיע להחלטה להיות אובי ואן קנובי  

 

כל תחפושת כללה מספר שלבי הכנה אבל בסה"כ זה יצא לא רע...

Knit knit knit

Suddenly all babies are coming popping around us, tow of our employers had a new baby.

And for this occasion I have decided to give them a knitted hat, one for each.

I an knitting for some time now and I like to challenge my self in new things every time, and a hat is a grate way to learn new stitch every time, because it small and fast.

I have seen for quite some time the brioche knitting, and I have decided that this is my opportunity to learn this stitch.

I looked around for a cute hat that is knitted top down for a hat that is free but I didn't find one that is one color brioche knit.

But I did find a pattern that is from the bottom up in half brioche stitch, so I have decided to try this for one hat and then try to do the other the second hat the other way around in my own pattern...

Any way I did do some changes and finished it with 6 stitch I-cord and tide it up with a simple knot at the top, the pattern was really simple to go threw and it was quick and fun.

Have to say I have used for the first time the snap shot app that my baby had put for me and I love it!!!

For the second hat I have done it in my own pattern and it turn out really grate, I hope to write the pattern and share it but I still need to write it so....
